ConservationThe North Park Fishing Club management would like to thank every member for their patronage. The North Park Fishing Club is fast becoming one of the premier fishing clubs in the West. This year snow pack (2009) in the North Platte drainage is a 113% of normal, GREAT NEWS !!!! It looks like this years fishing is going to be out-standing. Expect to see the big river fishing consistently some time in late June.
Concerning the resource, a major thrust will be to our lakes again. Dodge Lake and Kimmons Lakes incessant weed problem was dramatically reduced last year. The treatments and the grass carp really made a significant difference. Also, supplemental stocking efforts on the Dodge, kimmons lakes and the North Platte River will continue. This will be the six year that we have supplemented the North Platte River. There have been great strides to producing rainbow trout that have an immunity to whirling disease. These fish have adapted better than expected, should see fish over 8 pounds this summer. Good luck if you hook one!!!!!
If you interested about the lake treatments. Currently, we are treating all the still-water fisheries with a waste and sludge reducer. Basically, this is a microbial bacterium that specifically targets decaying organic matter, which eliminates excess Ammonia Nitrogen and other detrimental gases such as Sulfur Dioxide.
Please read the rules and regulation's for 2009, there have been some changes. Please remember that all guest's must sign a release form prior to fishing. Last year went off practically without a hitch. But a few gate were left open and some members were not parking at the designated parking areas. Also, members must control their dog from chasing live stock and not allow them on any furniture. Please be aware of these matters on a working cattle ranch. I cant over emphsise these points.
